The rooms at Monalisa Hostel are cozy and comfortable, with a seating area that makes you feel right at home.
Personally, I found the lack of a balcony in some rooms a bit disappointing, but others may still enjoy their stay without it.

I had an amazing stay at this vibrant hostel in Varanasi. The staff, especially Salman and Aman, were incredibly friendly, helpful, and caring. The location was perfect, just a short walk from the main ghats, and the hostel even had a rooftop with a stunning view. It truly felt like a home away from home.
The only improvement I would suggest is to have a more varied breakfast menu.

The rooms at Monalisa Hostel are comfortable and cozy, with a nice seating area for relaxation. I loved having a private bathroom with a shower in every room, it was super convenient. Some rooms even had a balcony, which was a lovely addition to enjoy the surroundings. The tile/marble floor in the twin room was a nice touch, adding a touch of elegance. The air conditioning in the twin room was a bonus, making it pleasant and cool. The tea/coffee maker in the room was great for enjoying a hot beverage anytime. I appreciated that the rooms came with fresh bed linen and towels. Having a safety deposit box in all units gave me peace of mind.
Personally, I would have preferred if all rooms had a balcony.

I recently had a 2-night stay at Monalisa Hostel and it was perfect for my visit to the city. The rooms were beautiful and the view of the Ganga from my room was breathtaking. Aman, the host, was incredibly helpful and provided great insights into the local way of life. The hotel is conveniently located, making it easy to avoid the crowded streets while visiting the sights. The guided tours offered by the owner were fantastic and his passion and knowledge about Varanasi were evident. The hotel also has a nearby cafe with delicious food, and the AC operates on a separate electricity source, ensuring comfort during power outages.
Couldn't recommend this hotel more.

My stay at Monalisa was incredible. The location was ideal, right in the heart of the city with easy access to cafes, restaurants, and the Ganga River. The staff, especially the manager, were friendly and helpful, making my experience even more enjoyable. The hostel itself had a cozy atmosphere and all the facilities I needed for a comfortable stay. I particularly loved the nearby kachori shop, a hidden gem that I will definitely visit again. I highly recommend this hotel for its prime location, friendly staff, and budget-friendly prices.
While there were some minor inconveniences, such as the need to remove shoes at the reception and the narrow streets and occasional unpleasant smells of the city, these were outweighed by the amazing experience of staying in Varanasi's old town. The cleanliness and size of the dorms and bathrooms were also areas of improvement.

I felt like a queen at MONALISA HOSTEL. The breakfast was so delicious, it made me forget I was eating away from my fancy dining room. The location was perfect, I could hear the chaos of the city right from my window.
The shower was a bit disappointing, it was like trying to wash off with a gentle drizzle.

The staff at this hostel were incredibly helpful and friendly. They went above and beyond to ensure that my family and I had a comfortable stay. The manager, Aman, was especially knowledgeable about the city and helped us plan our sightseeing tours. The location of the hostel was also ideal, just a short distance from the main attractions. We enjoyed the beautiful view from the rooftop terrace, where we could relax and watch the sunrise. The fresh linens provided upon checking in were also a nice touch.
The lack of an elevator was a bit inconvenient, especially for my elderly family members who had difficulty climbing the stairs. the bed in our room was hard and the sheets had some stains on them.
